The road we walk as transgendered folk is often rocky. Sometimes the strain of holding everything together can seem unbearable. This photo was taken on a lazy summer afternoon when the sun shone and everything felt right with the world. Because I’m an uptight English girl you probably can’t tell from my expression but I feel the “sunshine in my stomach” (to adopt Peter Gabriel’s phrase) that comes from knowing that today its OK to be me.
I wish you a happy and peaceful 2018.
