One of the great joys for me in the past few years has been to make new friends through the magic of the internet. I’m sufficiently stuck in the past to feel that friendship should generally involve meeting from time-to-time, but for a diverse and disparate community such as ours, the internet provides an extraordinarily powerful means to share experiences. Nevertheless, for me the highlights of the past year have been opportunities to spend time with friends living in places far (San Francisco) and near (about 500 yards from my home). I’ve met some really lovely people through being trans, probably not the thing I most expected I’d say when I started coming to terms with who I was several years ago.
